Short Biography:

Mr. A. K. Ziauddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor of the Department of Business Administration, has been teaching at the World University of Bangladesh since 2011.

He obtained his B. Sc. (Honors) degree in Physics and M. Sc. degree in Theoretical Physics from the University of Dhaka. Later, he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from the Bangladesh Institute of Management. He also obtained an MBA degree from the International University of Japan. At different stages of his studentship, Mr. Ahmed obtained Junior scholarship, Govt. Merit scholarship (twice), University Undergraduate scholarship, NCST fellowship, and IUJ scholarship.

Mr. Ahmed, a former General Manager of a sector corporation, is a professionally qualified teacher who augments his classroom deliberations with practical experience. He has 32 years of corporate experience in international marketing (25 years) and administration (7 years). During his corporate tenure Mr. Ahmed participated in many trade delegations and market promotion undertakings to several countries of Far East, Oceania, Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

As an academician Mr. Ahmed is teaching in BBA and MBA programs, supervising thesis works, and doing research. He has also made a few research publications. Mr. Ahmed was an active participant of the higher education quality enhancement drive sponsored by the Ministry of Education, UGC, and the World Bank. He held the position of chairman of the Self-Assessment Committee for the Department of Business Administration of the World University of Bangladesh under the Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP).
