Biography

Mr Md Amith is a Lecturer of Economics at the Department of Business Administration at the World University of Bangladesh. Md. Amith has achieved the highest formal academic degree, a Master’s of Science (MSc) in Economics, at University of Hull (Uk). His general area of expertise and research lies in development economics, globalization, welfare economics and contemporary issues in economics.  At WUB he teaches courses on Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Economy of Bangladesh and International Trade at undergraduate level and Managerial Economics at graduate level. Additionally, he supervises students at graduate level with their thesis and undergraduate students with their internship report. Besides he has participated in many seminars and workshops on development economics, research methodology and welfare economics. And on top of that he has successfully accomplished administrative task in international conference as well. He was the secretary of Academy of International Business (AIB) conference South Asia chapter which was held in Bangladesh (2025).  Before joining WUB he worked more than ten years in Ready Made Garments Industry as a CEO which strengthened his learning and knowledge in the professional world of business and economics. Mr Amith’s ambition is to pursue higher education in the relevant field which will foster intellectual growth and contribute towards teaching, research and management responsibilities.
