Dr. Selim Ahmed is
Professor and Head of the Department of Business Administration at the World University
of Bangladesh. Previously, he was an assistant professor at International
University of Agadir (Universiapolis), Morocco. He received his Ph.D. in
Business Administration from International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
His PhD research title was “Lean Six Sigma and its Effect on Quality
Performance in Malaysian Hospitals”. Besides his academic qualifications and
teaching experiences, he has published four books, six chapters, and over 50
articles in the top peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Ahmed is a Section
Editor for Health Service Insights (Sage Publications) and a
Consulting Editor for Hospital Topics (Taylor & Francis). He is
also an Editorial Advisory Board member for The TQM Journal (Emerald
Publishing), Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity (Elsevier), International
Journal of Healthcare Management (Taylor & Francis), Pertanika
Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (Publisher: Universiti Putra
Malaysia), LBS
Journal of Management & Research (Emerald Publishing), International
Journal of Business and Systems Research (Inderscience Publishers) and others. Recently, he
received “Outstanding Paper Award” and “Outstanding Reviewer Award” from Emerald
Literati Award 2024. In 2018, he received the “Top Global Reviewer Award”
from Publons, United Kingdom. Also, he received the “Best Paper” Award from the
12th Academy for Global Business Advancement (AGBA) Conference, University
Malaysia Pahang, Kuantan, Malaysia, 2015. Apart from these awards, he
reviewed around 350 articles for more than 90 peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Ahmed is a Co-Chair
at the AIB South Asia Conference 2025 at the World University
of Bangladesh. He
is an international scientific committee for International Conference
on Entrepreneurship, Business & Technology (InCEBT), Universiti
Malaysia Kelantan (UMK), Malaysia. He was the “Moderator & Organising
Committee” of the 4th Global Conference on Creating Value, 2021, Organised
by the University of South Florida, USA, and a scientific reviewer for “Academy
of Marketing Science Annual Conference 2022 & 2024”. He was the
“Secretary” for the 12th International Symposium on the
Analytic Hierarchy Process (ISAHP, 2013), Malaysia. He is
one of the management team members of the Transnational Corporations Council of
Studies (TNCCS), Ontario, Canada. He has conducted many online and
offline trainings, workshops, and lectures on research methodology, data
analysis, and other topics in Malaysia, Morocco, Canada, Kuwait, India,
Pakistan, and Bangladesh. His research areas include quality management,
service management, healthcare management, digital transformation,
organisational behaviour, and human resource management.
