Biography
Hafiz Hoque is a Professor of Finance in Swansea University. Professor Hafiz Hoque’s research focuses on the intersection of real world problems and corporate finance issues. His current research interest includes director’s network, credit default swaps, green innovation, corporate misconduct, pay transparency, climate change and finance, biodiversity, ESG, artificial intelligence, and textual analysis. He has attracted significant grant incomes over the last fifteen years. His research work has been presented at various conferences worldwide. Hafiz has delivered keynotes nationally and internationally on AI, climate change and biodiversity. He has an extensive publication record in 4* and 3* ABS listed journals including Journal of Corporate Finance and Journal of Banking and Finance. He is the Director of the Hawkes Centre for Empirical Finance. He serves as ad hoc referee for many journals including Journal of Banking and Finance, European Financial Management, Journal of Corporate Finance. He is an associate editor of Journal of International Finance and Economics and Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting. Hafiz (together with Douglas and Eilnaz) has edited a book titled: “Raising finance: From traditional to new forms of entrepreneurial finance” (in press) published by World Scientific Publishing. Hafiz Hoque holds a Ph.D. degree in finance from Bayes (Formerly Cass) Business School, University of London.
