The Inauguration
World University of Bangladesh (WUB) inaugurated its three-day long “Business Idea Competition 2026 – Innovation for Sustainable Growth” on Monday, 13 July 2026, at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium.
The ceremony was graced by Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of the World University of Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest. Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar, and Professor Dr. AQM Shafiul Azam, Dean of Academic Affairs and Research, attended as Special Guests. The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Selim Ahmed, Dean, Faculty of Business Studies.

The ceremony began with a welcome address by Professor Zaki Imam, Registrar, WUB. The Guest of Honor, Md. Nazrul Islam Sarker, Additional Managing Director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC, emphasized the importance of innovation-driven entrepreneurship in strengthening Bangladesh's economy.
Special Guests — Professor Dr. Md. Mamun Habib (Head, Department of General Management, IUB) and Dr. Rafiuddin Ahmed (Professor, Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka) — highlighted the importance of innovation, sustainability, and stronger industry-academia collaboration.
