Seminar on Career Prospects in Online Retailing Services

The Department of Business Administration organized a seminar on Career Prospects in Online Retailing Services on January 23, 2024, at the Founding Treasurer Morsheda Choudhury Auditorium in World University of Bangladesh.

The Chief Guest was Professor Dr. Abdul Mannan Choudhury, Vice Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh and the Special Guest was Professor Dr. M. Nurul Islam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh. In this session, the Keynote Speaker was Mr. Khalid Hussain, Chief Business Officer (CBO) at Amana Big Bazar Limited, Amana Group. He was a Business Head for ACI Logistics Limited (Shwapno) and Deputy Marketing Manager for Ispahani Group. The seminar was chaired by Professor Dr. Selim Ahmed, Head of the Department of Business Administration.

The programme began with an opening speech presented by Abdullah Mohammad Sharif, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration. Following that, both the Chief Guest and the Special Guest provided important insights into the job opportunities in online retailing services in both national and international marketplaces. They also emphasised how students might advance their careers in the retail industry once they graduate.

The Keynote Speaker Mr. Khalid Hussain shared the practical insights about career prospects in online retailing services based on his vast skills in the retailing sector. He emphasized winning the customer's mind by applying sustainable strategies and suggested making successful partnerships with suppliers. The keynote speaker suggested that to be a successful retailer, the following issues should be carefully analyzed: target market, competitor analysis, assortment (Product mix), demand-supply (make Hero Products), communication, loyalty to royal customers, engagement, and sustainability.

Students, faculty members, and administrative staff participated in this session. The seminar was concluded by a question and answer session. Md. Moniruzzaman, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, anchored the entire session.
